The many challenges of each and every M&A process are best met with professionalism, experience and integrity. After ten years in the business, Dr. Christoph Studinka knows this all too well. He worked as an independent consultant for several years, before co-founding the Zurich Proventis branch in 2009. So far, the business economist has supported mainly companies in the mechanical engineering, medical engineering and surface technology sectors, but has also been responsible for projects in other industrial branches and with service providers. Beyond M&A transactions, he also advises customers in strategy development and turnaround management.
Christoph Studinka knows what’s important when it comes to acquisitions, and not just from the many Proventis projects he has worked on. In 2009, after several months of negotiations, he himself, together with other investors, acquired the Optics Balzers AG, Liechtenstein. The specialist for developing and manufacturing coated optical components and modules did not match the Oerlikon Group’s portfolio anymore and today unfolds its full potential as a globally operating SME. These experiences allow the Swiss to empathize with the role of the customer even better. Christoph Studinka never loses sight of the central goal: the best results for the customer. The only thing that is more important to him is his family. He also brings along his camera with him on business trips. In 2009, Studinka publicly displayed his photographs for the first time.
Christoph Studinka (born 1961) has extensive experience within the industry and in consulting. He led the M&A department of the Sulzer AG and was responsible for business in North and South Americas as well as Asia at Oerlikon Balzers AG, where he was a member of the executive board for four years. As a management consultant at Arthur D. Little, he acquired a wide professional horizon in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. He completed his business administration studies with a core focus on industrial management at the University of St. Gallen with a doctorate degree.
