What personal Data do we collect and where does it come from?

As part of the application process, we process the following personal data:

  • Your master data (such as first name, last name, name suffixes, date of birth)
  • If applicable, work permit/residence permit
  • Contact details (e.g. private address, (mobile) telephone number, email address)
  • Skill data (e.g. special knowledge and skills)
  • If relevant to the advertised position: health suitability
  • Further data from the application documents

Your personal data is generally collected directly from you as part of the recruitment process, in particular from the application documents, the interview and the personnel questionnaire.

We also receive data from third parties (e.g. job placement agencies).

We also process personal data that we have legitimately obtained from publicly accessible sources (e.g. professional networks).

For what purposes and on what legal basis is Data processed?

We process your personal data in compliance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)

The primary purpose of data processing is to establish the employment relationship. The primary legal basis for this is Art. 88 Para. 1 GDPR in conjunction with. V. m. § 26 para. 1 BDSG

Your data will only be processed to fill the specific position for which you have applied.

If you would like to be included in our applicant pool in the event of a rejection, we will need a declaration of consent from you.

If your application is to be considered for other open positions in the company/group, we need a declaration of consent from you.

How long is your Data stored?

If you are hired, we will transfer your application documents to your personnel file. After termination of the employment relationship, the personal data that we are legally obliged to retain will continue to be stored. This regularly results from legal proof and retention obligations, which are regulated, among other things, in the Commercial Code and the Tax Code. The storage periods are then up to ten years. In addition, it may happen that personal data is retained for the period in which claims can be asserted against us (statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years).

In the event of a rejection, your application documents will be deleted no later than six months after completion of the application process, unless you have given us your consent to store them for a longer period of time (applicant pool).

Who gets your Data?

Within our company, only those people and positions (e.g. department, human resources department) who are involved in the decision about your employment receive your personal data.

What rights can you assert as a Data subject?

You have the rights under Articles 15 – 21 GDPR:

  • Right to information (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to deletion (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Right to object to processing (Article 21)
  • Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)

We do not transfer your applicant data to third countries.

In order to be able to consider your application, we need the personal data from you that is necessary for the decision on the establishment of the employment relationship.

To what extent do automated individual decisions or profiling measures take place?

We do not use purely automated processing processes to make a decision.
