Proventis Partners advises H.I.G. Europe on the purchase of the wheelchair manufacturers Meyra Group and Alu Rehab

Cologne, October 24, 2019

Proventis Partners has H.I.G. Europe, part of global private equity firm H.I.G. Capital, on the purchase of the two leading European wheelchair manufacturers Meyra Group S.A. and Alu Rehab A/S provides advisory support through a subsidiary. The merger of Meyra and Alu Rehab forms a new, leading manufacturer of rehabilitative mobility aids, especially wheelchairs. The transaction is subject to approval by the responsible antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

Together, both companies will form a new leading manufacturer of mobility aids in Europe and complement each other with synergies across the entire value chain from manufacturing and logistics to sales and service. The current management teams of both companies will lead the group going forward. The combined company will generate over 40% of its sales in the German-speaking market. The new group is expected to continue to grow organically and through targeted acquisitions in currently underrepresented European countries and selected markets outside of Europe.
