Proventis Partners advised EBM Group

The EBM Group has sold its subsidiary EBM Telecom AG to Besonet / Quickline Net AG. The acquisition of EBM Telecom AG continues the consolidation in the Swiss cable network market and the growth of the Quickline Group. The well-positioned provider EBM Telecom thus automatically becomes part of the Quickline group, which already includes 19 independent cable network companies and the full-service provider Finecom. 

EBM Telecom AG operates as a full service provider in EBM’s extended coverage area. The company covers the telecommunications needs of business and residential customers in a holistic manner and offers a comprehensive portfolio on the largest fiber optic network in the region of northwestern Switzerland, ranging from networking and data transport to secure data storage in its own data centers.

The Quickline group is the clear number two in the Swiss cable network market behind upc cablecom. Together with EBM Telecom AG, Finecom Telecommunications AG and 19 independent cable network companies, around 350,000 households in the cantons of Aargau, Baselland, Bern, Graubünden, Lucerne, Nidwalden, Schwyz, Solothurn, Valais, Zug and Zurich will be supplied with Quickline multimedia services from 2014. Finecom, based in Biel, is a subsidiary of the parent company Besonet AG and employs 70 people. 

Proventis Partners was responsible for evaluating and approaching potential buyers, coordinating due diligence and negotiating the transaction. Proventis’ tasks also included the company valuation and the preparation of recommendations to EBM’s board of directors.
