Pierre André Schneider joins Proventis Partners as new partner in the Energy sector

Munich, 09. August 2018 – Proventis Partners, a fast-growing M&A advisory firm, continues its sector specialization and welcomes Pierre André Schneider (47) as a new partner for the Energy sector.

Throughout 20 years of professional experience, Pierre Schneider held various management positions in the industry as well as in top management consultancies. His sector experience includes Renewable Energy, Industrial and Capital goods, as well as Luxury Consumer Goods/Fashion.

Pierre Schneider contributes over 12 years of M&A, Transactions Services and Corporate Strategy expertise to the Proventis Partners’ team. Pierre joins Proventis Partners from Nordex, a German TecDAX-listed, globally leading wind turbine manufacturer. As Vice President he headed the Corporate Development, Strategy and M&A department since 2011. In this function, he initiated, managed and successfully implemented numerous M&A projects, both involving small/mid cap and large cap companies.

Particularly worth mentioning was Pierre Schneider’s leading role in the friendly takeover of Spanish competitor Acciona Windpower for €785m, which he managed from the initial contact to signing/closing, and for which he received the Diamond Award for the “Transaction of 2016” by The M&A Advisor London.

Additional responsibilities with Nordex included strategic planning and implementation, with focus on the implementation of growth strategies through Mergers & Acquisitions or Joint Ventures (China). He also accompanied the company during restructuring phases and refinancing projects.

After having graduated as a Materials Science and Engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the University of Florida, he started his career with Andersen Consulting’s Strategy Practice (now Accenture) with focus on the communications/high tech and utilities sector. He then shifted the focus to the fashion industry by joining a private-equity backed fashion start-up, where he played a key role in the acquisition of worldwide licensing rights for JOOP! Womenswear and subsequently served as CFO for several years. Switching back to consulting, his next position was with PricewaterhouseCoopers. As Manager/Authorized Signatory in the Transaction Services Strategy Group, he headed mainly mid-cap buy- and sell side commercial due diligence projects, before taking a leadership position with Nordex in the world of renewable energy.

“With Pierre, we are delighted to be able to bring on board a partner with operational track record in the industry as well as M&A expertise at Proventis Partners once again, and welcome him warmly,” comments Jan Poerschmann. “In addition to his expertise in the energy sector with an emphasis on renewables, he contributes a wealth of experience in the fields of capital goods, industrial goods, and luxury consumer goods/fashion with him, which will enrich our team. He has acquired and proven his M&A expertise in many projects and deals on the consulting side as well as in industry with notable leading companies. Our clients in particular will benefit from his structured, analytical approach and strategic thinking. He is familiar with the structures and processes in listed companies as well as the often completely contrary starting position in small privately-owned companies and start-ups from his own operational experience”.

Rainer Wieser, like Poerschmann founding partner, adds: “Pierre wanted to focus entirely on M&A transactions in the future. We offer him an excellent entrepreneurial platform for continuing his consulting work in cooperation with the teams in our five offices in Munich, Hamburg, Zurich, Cologne and Budapest as well as our cooperation partners in the USA, UK and China”.
